Becoming a Christian

It’s as simple as…

Admit that you are not perfect – that you have sinned. Admit that you need Jesus. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)

Believe that Jesus Christ died for you but was resurrected from the dead and that He is alive “To those who believed on His Name He gave the right to become the children of God.” (John 1:12)

Confess that you want Jesus to be the Lord of your life. “If you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’; and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:1)

Becoming a Christian is like…

  • Receiving a gift – “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ” (Romans 6:23)
  • Going through a door – “I am the door, he that enters through will be saved” (John 10:9)
  • Coming Home – “Let’s feast and celebrate…For this son of mine was lost and now is found” (Luke 15:23 & 24)

A prayer that you can pray…

“Dear Lord Jesus I admit that I am not perfect. I have sinned. I believe that You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I now turn from my sins and invite You to come into my life. I confess that I want You to be the leader of my life. Amen.”

Good News for you…

“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (I John 5:11-12)
